Saint Vincent de Paul Parish is administrated by the Congregation of the Mission – Western Province, also known as the Vincentian priests and brothers. The Vincentians were founded by Saint Vincent de Paul in 1625 and have served in the Lincoln Park neighborhood since 1875.
The priests and brothers of the Western Province serve in more than 24 vibrant parishes, sponsor DePaul University in Chicago, the largest Catholic university in the US. They help prepare future priests in nine seminaries, help people grow in holiness at two retreat centers, preach dozens of parish missions each year, console patients and families as hospital chaplains and much more. In their ministry Vincentians seek out those on the margins, poor and forgotten people.
