Vespers is an evening prayer service with origins in the sixth century. It is a simple and ancient Catholic prayer service which features the recitation of psalms. Vincentians have sung a unique form of vespers since the 1600s. This devotion—known as a novena—is prayed in Vincentian communities across the world the nine nights preceding Christmas. This 30-minute prayer is a perfect way to quiet both your mind and your heart in one final preparation for Christmas.
