Christmas season is right around the corner and many of you have started your Christmas shopping already. Remember those less fortunate by helping make this Christmas one to remember for a needy child in our community through the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Gift Tag Program. An example of those we provide gifts to are families associated with the Marillac House. Parents of these children are allowed to come to the center the weekend before Christmas to “shop” for their Christmas gifts after making a $5 donation per household. The nuns that run this program use this funding for field trips for the children throughout the year. We are the main source of gifts for the Marrilac House. Please consider adding another gift to your list for these children. Don’t forget about our teenagers whose needs are just as great as the littlest ones in our community.
The St Vincent de Paul Christmas Gift Tag distribution will begin on November 18, 2017. We will be asking that everyone pick up a tag, or two, at the church entrances and return the gifts UNWRAPPED to the altar steps or bring to the Parish Center no later than Sunday, December 10, 2017. However, if you have shopped early and have a gift, you are welcome to place those gifts on the altar steps or bring to the Parish Center at any time. Thank you for your help & support in a making child’s Christmas brighter.
If your Book Club, Office or Organization is interested in supporting a charity this Christmas season please consider the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Gift Program.
Volunteers are needed Sunday, December 10, 2017 following the 8:00am Mass, to help sort the gifts in the Parish Center. Please contact Joan Buchanan at email@example.com to sign up.
