The Elizabeth Ann Seton Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen began in 1980, handing out coffee and sandwiches to patrons on our front porch. Today, our sandwich kitchen is open 4 days a week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. We serve, on average, fifty to sixty meals a day. We also provide hygiene kits, socks, gloves, hats and winter clothing to our guests. Volunteers include parishioners, DePaul students, faculty and staff, and others from the neighborhood.
Volunteer shifts start at 7:15 AM where food and meals are prepped. The kitchen is open to serve meals from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM. Following food service, there is clean up until 10:00 AM. We are limited to four volunteers per shift. Gloves and masks are required.
Our volunteers can schedule themselves using an online scheduling system. You will need to create an account to be able to sign up. A link to do this is provided below.
Once you submit the form, you’ll receive another email with your log-in. Go ahead, log on and look at the schedule to sign up. Feel free to sign up for whenever you are available.
* Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to serve. *
