Take the Fifth
Join Great Books and God at 6:30pm on Tuesday, August 19th when we meet to discuss our fifth book, And Now I See: A Theology of Transformation by Father Robert Barron (The Crossroad Publishing Company, 1998).
Barron, the Rector/President of Mundelein Seminary/University of Saint Mary of the Lake, offers an accessible exploration of Christian theological concepts that anyone can comprehend.
“Christianity is, above all, a way of seeing. What unites figures as diverse as James Joyce, Caravaggio, John Milton, the architect of Chartres, Dorothy Day, Dietrich Bonhoeffer and the later Bob Dylan is a peculiar and distinctive take on things, a style, a way, which flows finally from Jesus of Nazareth…This book is about coming to vision through Christ.” — from the Prelude of And Now I See: A Theology of Transformation
Great Books and God is an “open enrollment” book club. Members choose the books we read and can join at any time. If you have questions, contact Deacon Dean at deanvaeth@comcast.net or just drop in on Tuesday, August 19th in the Parish Center at 6:30pm for discussion and light snacks. Bring the book. Bring a friend.
