Homily from April 23, 2017

Homily In Brief for the 2nd Sunday of Easter:

As a Cub fan, I have had my share of heartbreak. Last year I continued to have doubts that they would win. Would I let myself hope? Sometimes it’s easier to not hope and protect myself against the pain. We all can be like this, and so was Thomas after the resurrection. Would he allow himself to hope again without seeing it for himself? As with Thomas, Jesus comes to us to give us this hope and allow us to truly live and love. He always is patient with us and never gives up, even when we may give up on him. Let us ask for that strength to recognize and respond to his living presence among us.
