Homily for the 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time 2018
We are invited today to get to the basics of our faith, simply to love God and our neighbor. So many man-made structures can actually prevent the practice of faith and those need to go. Religion that is pure and undefiled, as St. James writes, protects the weak and serves the poor. In the midst of darkness and sin, let us remind ourselves that Christ is here with us, giving us his grace and love to be doers of the Word and make God’s loving presence known.
