Homily from Easter Sunday 2018

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a man who lived his life based on hope in Christ. All that he did for justice and peace came from his faith and belief in the Risen Lord. We are invited today to claim this same hope that hatred, darkness, despair and death will not define us. The love and power of God will conquer all. Let us continue to live out our belief and faith by seeking justice for all and seeing the dignity and worth of every person. As Dr. King said, “With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope.” Let us be those stones of hope in our families and world. Happy Easter!
